Last Updated on May 28, 2022 by Ashvin Leave a Comment

Are you having a hard time driving traffic to your blog? You actually thought it was a good idea to put that number on your blog that would show the amount of viewers until the truth set in.

EVERGREEN CONTENT

There are not a lot people who go to your blog because it is not that popular. You must think of ways to make your blog famous because popular bloggers also turn into big time celebrities. Believe it or not, work from home people can also turn into millionaires as long as they employ the right strategies.

The answer in making your blog popular may not lie in the design of the blog. It is probably not your grammar either even though you should correct those mistakes.

The real reason lies within the amount of Evergreen content on your blog.

What is Evergreen content?

Evergreen content has nothing to do with the amount of trees and plants in your blog. It has more to do with the relevance of your articles. That means it is important to capture the attention of the reader even if it has been a long time since it was published.

You don’t believe Evergreen is important for your blog? I have not four but five reasons to support that claim.
Read on.

1) New readers

There is actually a chance that readers who go to your website for the evergreen content might look around your website to see if there is anything else that is interesting.

In fact, they could add you through Google Plus or Networked Blogs and you will know that you have new fans.

If their friends see your blog is one of the blogs they follow, then they would also go to your blog and see if there is anything interesting in it.

2) Heavy traffic

The most important part about making articles in your blog is having search engine optimization in mind. If you do that then it will drive traffic to your website in the future.

Years after you have posted the article, people will still stumble upon it as long as they search keywords that are relevant to what they are looking for.

For example, if your article is about taking care of dogs then people will find your website if they type “How to take care of your dogs” at search engine websites like Yahoo and Google.

3) Share and declare

Thanks to social networking websites like Facebook, Linkedln and Google Plus, it allow to share blog posts on your profile. In fact, it can be done just by clicking a button that automatically shares the post. After that, the blog post will appear on your profile and it can be seen by your followers.

If you are someone who likes to Tweet, then that can be achieved as well. After that, all your Twitter followers will be able to see what you tweeted about.

4) The Perfect Time Reliever

It is pretty obvious that you won’t be able to write articles every day of the week especially if you think you need a break from work. If that is the case then nothing is going to stop you from booking a flight to Hawaii so you can enjoy the beaches there.

These situations are what make evergreen content unique because it would make up for the days you were not able to post an article. The evergreen content would attract readers on days you had no time to update your website.

5) Gaining a good reputation

One good benefit from writing evergreen content is once you write a good article on an interesting topic, your readers would go to your website in case they want to find out more about it. If you are interested in expanding about that topic then you can right an FAQ about it.

For example, you thought of writing about the benefits of having good exercise every week. When one of your readers gain a lot of weight, then he would go back to your article and find out what he should do.

Once you have evergreen content on your website, you can write about other stuff. Remember, all the stuff on your website does not have to be evergreen.
