So, security and privacy are the major responsibilities for businesses involved in mobile apps development. With the launch of iOS 7 and iPhone 5S, Apple has surely started the debate of mobile security again. Smart-phones users download a range of apps which collaborate with core user interactions to send and receive sensitive informations. This is the reason why Apple laid major emphasis on security technologies that allows end to end control of devices, data and apps. In order to secure your iPhone 5S running on iOS7, users can follow simple guidelines:

#1. Use a stronger pass code lock

Passcode lock prevents apple device from casual snooping. It protects the data from unwanted intrusion by encrypting hardware in order to prevent it from burglars. Iphone 5s consists of biometric fingerprint identity sensor that can authenticate and secure device access. Rather than 4-number pin, enter longer set of numbers without making it overly difficult to enter.

#2. Keep personal notifications and system toggles off your lock screen

There is no need of Strong Passcode lock if your messages, notification center alerts are clearly seen on Screen. This is one of the major drawback in smart devices. But in Apple devices you can turn off Lock screen data while leaving your devices at unreliable place. iPhone 5s dwells with Touch ID that will automatically turn off Siri access on lock screen.

#3. Turn on to 2 step verification

There have been a range of services that have come to the mainstream in wake of security attacks over the years. Touch ID administered Biometrics, Passwords and Tokens as three major security features in iPhone 5s. It is a 2-step verification which is sophisticated in comparison to full-on multi-factor authentication. Initially you setup the service on your device by inserting app specific password and an additional pin-code thus making it more stronger.

#4. Keep your web-browsing, location, social and other data private

Safari colonizes private browsing so that your web history, cookies and other information regarding browsing does not get tracked across internet. To make browsing more convenient, iOS7 Private browsing can be enabled from bookmarks, tabs and smart search field screens. IOS gives ease to review and change your privacy setting allowing you to access Location data, contacts, other sensitive information as well as apps. VPN service also helps in keeping data private.

Wipe web history and other data from your device: In Apple’s devices, you also have fundamental of remotely and securely wiping entire device by clearing other personal, private, compromising, plain data including messages, mails, photos and many more unusual things. With this you can ensure that your data is not misused if your device is stolen by an unauthorized user.

Conclusion

Privacy and security issues are becoming daunting task among smartphone users. As there are a range of apps installed at any given time, data can be stolen from anywhere and app may get infected with malware. Security features in apple’s devices have surely taken the forefront because of its integrated set of services and ingenious functionalities.

Apple protects personal information by changing its privacy policies time to time. It is committed to protect data and its key aspect is to provide safer smoother customized experience.
