Trick to Configure and Use FaceTime on macOS

Hello friends, in todays post I am going to show you how you can configure your Mac’s built-in video and audio calling app, FaceTime.

Messaging is a great way to communicate with your friends, many times you want to talk to your friends. So, there is a great built-in app on Mac called as FaceTime. FaceTime allows you to make video as well as audio calls to other peoples when your friendship needs a more personal touch.

Trick to configure FaceTime on Mac

To get started with FaceTime is very simple and all you’ll need is your Apple ID.

  1. Open FaceTime app on your Mac.
  2. You will see a Apple ID box, just enter your Apple ID email address and password and click on Sing In.
  3. If you have two-step or two-factor authentication turned on for your Apple ID, enter your verification code.Configure and Use FaceTime on macOS
  4. If you don’t want to receive a call from specific person, Uncheck the boxes next to the email address.Configure and Use FaceTime on macOS

Trick to make a call in FaceTime

Put your phone in your pocket or on your desk, and make your next call with FaceTime instead.

  1. Open FaceTime app on your Mac.
  2. Select Video or Audio based on the type of call you want to make.make a call in FaceTime
  3. Enter or Choose a name, number, or email into the search bar.
  4. Click on the Phone icon to to make audio call or Camera icon to make video call.make a call in FaceTime

Trick to add an email address in FaceTime

If you have a number of email addresses or aliases, you can set FaceTime up to allow people to contact you using any of them.

  1. Open FaceTime on your Mac.
  2. Click on FaceTime in the Menu bar and select Preferences.add an email address in FaceTime
  3. Click Add Email.

Trick to choose which number or email address to call from in FaceTime

Choose which phone number or email address people will see when you call them using FaceTime.

  1. Open FaceTime on your Mac.
  2. Click on FaceTime in the Menu bar and select Preferences.email address to call from in FaceTime 1
  3. Click the drop-down menu next to Start new calls from.
  4. Choose which email address or phone number that you’ll start new calls from.email address to call from in FaceTime 2

Trick to set your FaceTime ringtone

You can customize your FaceTime experience with a new ringtone.

  1. Open FaceTime on your Mac.
  2. Click on FaceTime in the Menu bar and choose Preferences.set your FaceTime ringtone 1
  3. Click the drop-down menu next to Ringtone.
  4. Choose your preferred ringtone.set your FaceTime ringtone 2

Trick to set your location in FaceTime

  1. Open FaceTime on your Mac.
  2. Click on FaceTime in the Menu bar and select Preferences.set your location in FaceTime 1
  3. Click the drop-down menu next to Location.

Trick to choose your default app for calls

You can decide which app should be your primary solution for calls on your Mac, be it FaceTime, Skype, or something else.

  1. Open FaceTime on your Mac.
  2. Click on FaceTime in the Menu bar and select Preferences.choose your default app for calls 1
  3. Click the drop-down menu next to Default for calls.
  4. Choose from FaceTime, Skype, and any other apps on the list.choose your default app for calls 2
