To check whether if site will pass you more juice or not or has some authority, go to Open Site Explorer tool.
Enter your target site, and find out the DA and PA of the site you wish to get a backlink from. The more the DA and PA, better the backlink would be.

Don’t miss the chance of optimizing your article by putting the targeted keywords in heading tags, title and permalink.
But make sure to not mess with Google by doing unethical techniques like keyword stuffing or creating backdoor pages etc.
